Behind the Scenes
Inspiration
I live in New York City and I often write about the city and the surrounding area, but I grew up in Texas in a small town. I drove pickup trucks, hauled hay, and drank beer in the local joint wearing cutoffs and cowboy boots. Like my heroine, Andie, I longed for freedom and adventure. This is an erotic short story but there’s an element of nostalgia in it for me, and a deep love for the characters.
Cover Design
This cover design is slightly unusual for erotica. Not the photo but the text treatment. I think it has a magazine cover feel to it, which I like.
Not having the budget for professional photography, I spend a lot of time searching for the perfect stock photo. I feel this girl writhing in hay in an old-fashioned truck bed communicates the tone of the story. Though, I’ve been wondering if a cover with a sexy cowboy on it might attract more female readers. I’d love to hear what you think.

I’m a freelance writer, artist, and graphic designer who has worked in various aspects of publishing for more years than I’m willing to admit. I’ve lived in New York City most of my life but I’m originally from Texas. And I’ve never forgotten old pickup trucks full of hay and cold beer from the ice house. Or handsome cowboys.
